| Sun Well Service is committed to serving our customers above and beyond the competition. Therefore, we work hard to attract the highest quality personnel by offering competitive wages, a complete benefits package and bonus opportunities. Sun Well Service has earned a reputation as a first-class employer. Sun Well Service is expanding and growing its operations. We now have rigs in Dickinson ND and Sidney MT and have added new capacity with rigs, pumps swivels and BOPs with the intention of continued growth to meet the needs of the Bakken and Three Forks plays.
We maintain ongoing safety training procedures because we value the safety of each and every one of our employees. New employees are required to take a pre-employment drug screen. Upon passing the pre-employment drug screen, the employee views an Introduction to Safety video. The video is followed by an OSHA respiratory medical evaluation questionnaire. H2S training and respiratory face fitting is then conducted when first available. Next, training is provided by video for Lock Out Tag Out and Ergonomics. After the review of the company’s drug and hearing protection policies, the new hire is ready for field activity.
Depending on experience and program availability the new hire will either be located with an existing crew, as an extra hand, or placed in the Work Force Training program at Williston State College.
The industry refers to employees who work at the rig sight for Sun Well Service as rig hands. These employees are further divided. The rig operator or site supervisor is the person in charge of the crew and directs the daily on-site operation. This person has experience working on a rig and has responsibilities for rig operation, crew supervision, communicating with the employing company and reporting to his supervisor-the tool pusher-as well as the central office.
The remaining crew consists of two or three additional personnel. Sometimes the additional crew members are referred to as floor hands, working equipment close to the rig floor, or derrick hands, working up in the derrick. Often there is an additional fourth person to assist where needed during the daily activities of rig operation.
